Cancer Cell #2, Acrylic on Canvas, 48 x 36 inches

With the death of my dad, I witnessed just how ugly cancer can be. Ironically, after researching cancerous cells, I found inspiration from the beauty of the form.  The start of the painting is completely experimental and random.  To create the circular structure I refer to photographs of cells but also leave things up to chance by letting the paint and my artistic intuition lead me as I work.
