Cell No. 2, Acrylic on Canvas, 48 x 36 inches

With the death of my dad, I witnessed just how ugly cancer can be. After researching cancerous cells, I found inspiration from the beauty of the form and a desire to bring a message of hope. It is a therapeutic process for me. I refer to photographs of cells to create the circular structures but also leave things up to chance by letting the paint and my artistic intuition lead me as I work.
